Building disability awareness
The National Council of Jewish Women – Peninsula Section is passionate about advocacy and community service for individuals with disabilities. In 2001, members were instrumental in building the first universally accessible playground on Long Island in Cedarhurst Park and the facility has been expanded since then. In June 2018, NCJW Peninsula help to host the annual disability fair in their community along with other Jewish organizations on the playground they built.
