Five actions you can take to protect access to medication abortion
The fight over access to medication abortion is still working its way through the courts — and reproductive and religious freedom is at stake. Earlier this year, in Louisiana v. FDA, the Fifth Circuit temporarily reinstated a medically unnecessary requirement that mifepristone — one of two pills often used in medication abortion — be dispensed in person.
When the case went to the Supreme Court, NCJW organized 50 faith-based organizations and religious denominations to defend access to this crucial drug.
The Court kept mifepristone access in place for now — but kicked the case back to the Fifth Circuit.
While we’re weighing in at the Supreme Court, there are still lots of things you can do to protect access to mifepristone and medication abortion. We’ve put together five ways for you to get started:
