Join NCJW, Israel Women’s Network, Itach Ma’aki, and other partners for a panel held alongside the United Nations’ annual Commission on the Status of Women. This event is part of the NGO Committee on the Status of Women Forum, a dynamic series of events taking place in parallel with the Commission.

Our vital discussion on March 14th will focus on women’s leadership in peacebuilding and the critical gap in these spaces: women’s voices. Panelists Hanan Alsanah, Esq. (Itach Ma’aki), Professor Daphna Hacker (Israel Women’s Network), and Kari Reid (Alliance for Middle East Peace) will explore UN Resolution 1325, which mandates women’s inclusion in leadership roles in war and peace processes. Our panel will also examine the unique perspectives women bring to diplomacy and conflict resolution, the barriers they face, and the necessity of their inclusion at centers of decision-making and on negotiation teams to ensure lasting peace. As the session is uniquely timed to take place on Shabbat, Ramadan, and Purim, we will also take a moment to draw on our faith traditions in expressing our will for peace.
