Restore Abortion Access: Pass the Women’s Health Protection Act

At National Council of Jewish Women, we know that reproductive freedom is religious freedom. At the heart of these freedoms is the Jewish value of kavod ha bri’ot — honoring the dignity of every person. Since the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade in 2022, those very freedoms have been endangered by a nationwide patchwork of restrictive policies that impede abortion access and disproportionately harm already impacted communities. The ability to exercise bodily autonomy and receive essential health care should not depend on one’s zip code or income.
The Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) would restore the nationwide right to abortion throughout the United States. Right now, one in three women of reproductive age in the US live in a state with an abortion ban. We urgently need federal protections to safeguard both patients and providers receiving and delivering this critical care, and WHPA provides this solution.
Call your lawmakers and urge them to support the Women’s Health Protection Act today to restore and protect our reproductive freedom.
