Tell Congress: Don’t Force Hidden Guns into Our Communities

Right now, Congress is considering a national concealed carry mandate that would override state gun safety laws and put children and communities in immediate danger. Under HR 38, a person from a state with no rules about who can buy or carry weapons could bring a loaded, hidden gun to your synagogue, your child’s school, a local playground, or your voting location — and there would be nothing you could do to stop it.
As Jewish advocates, we refuse to stand idly by while our leaders put lives at risk.
The Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act (HR 38) would force every state to accept the weakest gun laws in the country — enabling anyone to carry concealed guns nationwide, ignoring state laws and undermining public safety. From empowering armed domestic abusers to chase their victims across state lines with impunity, to stripping states’ power to keep guns out of the hands of those convicted of hate crimes, this bill will be devastating for all of our communities.
If HR 38 passes, none of us — especially our children — are safe anywhere.
