Act NOW to Stop Antisemitism and Hate in all forms: Pass the Improving Reporting to Prevent Hate Act

Violent antisemitism is escalating. From the brutal murder in Washington, DC to the terrifying attack in Boulder, Colorado just before Shavuot, Jewish communities are under threat — and regularly experiencing antisemitic hate. No community should have to live in fear. As Jews, we are taught to uphold the value of Kavod habriot, respect and dignity for all human beings. We know that protecting our own and other communities from hate is integral to our mission of creating a world where every person is free to live with dignity and in safety.

In order to effectively address this spike in hate-driven violence, we need an accurate and complete picture of hate crimes in the US. We cannot fight a problem that we cannot see, and yet many law enforcement agencies around the country do not properly record or report hate crimes.

The Improving Reporting to Prevent Hate Act is exactly what our communities need to protect ourselves and each other from the ongoing threat of hate-fueled violence. This bill will improve hate crime reporting and response by requiring law enforcement to report hate crimes to the FBI every year. There is no time to waste: Tell Congress to pass the Improving Reporting to Prevent Hate Act to protect all communities from hate!
