FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NCJW Proud to Partner With JOIN for Justice

June 16, 2017, New York – The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is proud to partner with JOIN for Justice on community organizing trainings — ROAR! Jewish Leadership Training for Resistance, Organizing, Action and Resilience. NCJW CEO Nancy K. Kaufman released the following statement:

“National Council of Jewish Women’s (NCJW) partnership with the Jewish Organizing Institute and Network (JOIN for Justice) is an incredible opportunity to train our grassroots in community organizing — a centerpiece of our civic engagement work. We’re proud to anchor ROAR! Jewish Leadership Training for Resistance, Organizing, Action and Resilience in five communities: Dallas, Detroit, Miami, New Orleans, and St. Louis, with our members joining other trainings in communities across the country anchored by Bend the Arc, JOIN’s other partner in ROAR!

“Our goal is to build power through numbers and engagement in local communities in order to advance social and economic justice for women, children, and families. We are particularly focused on voter education and turn-out in anticipation of the 2018 mid-term elections.

“The trainings explore campaign development and the cycle of campaigns that build power and have the greatest possible impact. Leaders learn how to work across lines of difference, how to find strength and resilience to fight for justice long-term, and how Jewish wisdom can guide, inspire, and ground us in this moment. This skills building training helps to channel the energy that people all over the country are feeling into tangible acts and campaigns that that make a difference.”

ROAR trainings will be offered around the country this month. To learn more, visit www.joinforjustice.org.
