Support the Women’s Health Protection Act!
National Council of Jewish Women believes that every person has the right to access comprehensive, affordable, and equitable reproductive health care. But since the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade, 14 states have banned abortion, with more restrictions on the horizon. These bans most harm women; Black, Indigenous, and People of Color; those working to make ends meet; LGBTQ+ folks; immigrants; young people; individuals living in rural communities; and people with disabilities. The Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA, HR 12), introduced by Reps. Judy Chu (D-CA), Lois Frankel (D-FL), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Veronica Escobar (D-TX), would re-establish a nationwide right to access abortion care throughout the United States. It would create a new statutory right for health care providers to provide abortion care, and a corresponding right for their patients to receive that care, free from bans and medically unnecessary restrictions that single out abortion and impede access. Call your Representative and urge them to support the Women’s Health Protection Act to restore and protect our reproductive freedom.
