Support Children and Families in Federal Budget

Support Children & Families in Federal Budget. Tell Congress to pass a federal budget that supports the health and stability of all children

NCJW believes we have a communal responsibility to ensure that every family and child is cared for and empowered. Yet Congress has failed time and time again to fund critical, life-saving programs that ensure the health and security of our children.

We are in a crisis in this country. Families cannot pay for the care their children need, childcare centers cannot meet the demand and many are unable to stay open, and care workers remain underpaid and under-resourced. Low-income parents and children do not have access to the nutrition they need to live. And, millions of children are living in poverty.

Without funding for programs like the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) for nutrition assistance to pregnant and postpartum women as well as infants and children and childcare programs, children and families experiencing poverty or who do not have access to these necessary services will continue to suffer. Congress has the opportunity right now to make bold investments in childcare and ensure that children and families have every opportunity to thrive, not just survive. As lawmakers engage in the annual budget process, they must prioritize funding critical care programs to ensure all children are cared for.

Urge your Members of Congress to pass a federal budget that supports the health and stability of all children.
