- The issue: Since 2011, state lawmakers have passed nearly 500 abortion bans and restrictions. These oppressive laws most harm women, Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC); those working to make ends meet; members of the LGBTQI+ community; immigrants; young people; those living in rural communities; and people with disabilities.
- The good news: The Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) would create a new tool for safeguarding access to high-quality care and securing constitutional rights by protecting patients and providers from this dangerous political interference.
- Our task: Call your senators and tell them to vote YES on WHPA. Even though the bill may not pass this year, it’s important to get our lawmakers on the record about supporting access to abortion.
