Take the pledge

A few weeks ago in a close vote, 62 Members of Knesset voted to approve the Nation State Law. This law devalues Israel’s commitment to equality among all its citizens. It changes the delicate balance between Israel as the Jewish homeland and as a democratic state that treats all its citizens equally under the law. This law is an attack on democracy. It’s a danger to Israel’s future.

Israelis deserve answers from those who voted for it. And we can help them get those answers. Take the pledge to hold to account the MKs who voted for this law.

NCJW is joining with other progressive Jewish organizations to mobilize our community on this issue. We want to get thousands of individuals to pledge to demand answers from any of the 62 Members of Knesset who voted for the Nation State Law when they speak in our communities, at conferences we attend, or to a delegation to Israel that we participate in.

Israelis are already standing up and opposing this Law and reaffirming the principles of democracy and equality enshrined in Israel’s Declaration of Independence.

They are counting on us to stand up for equality too. Hold the MKs to account. Demand Answers. Take the Pledge.
