July 20, 2012, Washington, DC — The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) today expressed its condolences for the victims of the mass shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado yesterday night. NCJW CEO Nancy K. Kaufman released the following statement:
“NCJW sends condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed in the mass shooting in Colorado last night. Our prayers are with those injured in this horrific incident. Although all the details of this crime are not yet known, what we do know is that the scourge of gun violence has taken too many lives and injured too many in our nation. We urge our leaders at the local, state, and federal levels to address this problem without delay. The cost of inaction has already been too high.”
