Saddleback (CA) Section | Coalition Community Meeting

Even before NCJW kicked off the Voices for Reproductive Choices Campaign in March 2011, the Saddleback Section in southern California had connecting aligned organizations in their area. In December 2010, the section co-hosted a briefing meeting that focused on organizing grassroots action to support women’s reproductive rights in California. Sister Donna Quinn, a Catholic nun from Chicago, spoke at the event, illustrating successful actions that have stopped anti-choice laws in Illinois, and attendees signed petitions that were then sent to Senators Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein. The Saddlebrook Section used the connections gained at this event as a springboard to reach out to other organizations in Orange County and extend NCJW’s Voice for Reproductive Choices emergency action campaign efforts into their community.

San Francisco (CA) Section | Petition Gathering

The San Francisco Section hit the streets on Sunday, March 27, to collect 400 signatures for NCJW’s Voices for Reproductive Choices petition.

St. Louis Section at RallyOn March 30, members of NCJW’s St. Louis Section participated in a Planned Parenthood Pro-Choice Lobby Day and joined close to 80 advocates from around the state to deliver messages against two bills currently in the state legislature that will restrict abortion options in Missouri and generate additional governmental intrusion in women’s choices.

The section also sponsored an ad in the St. Louis Jewish Light, Wednesday, April 6, asking citizens in St. Louis to call their representatives and tell them NO to the extreme anti-choice bills – HR 3, HR 217, and HR 358 – currently making their way through Congress.
