2011 NCJW Award Honorees
NCJW’s Showcase and Awards (Showcase) is a special recognition program that invites NCJW sections from across the country to exhibit their program successes at NCJW’s National Convention. Showcase concludes by honoring outstanding programs that further NCJW’s mission while exemplifying creativity and innovation. The 2011 Showcase and Awards theme, NCJW’s Vision for America, highlights the seven points in NCJW’s Vision for America policy agenda.
This year, four NCJW sections – Charleston (SC), Greater Dallas (TX), Greater Minneapolis (MN), and Utah – were honored. These sections have developed and implemented section programs with a commitment to social justice, peace, and human rights and have increased NCJW’s visibility and made an impact on their community.
In addition, to the section awards, NCJW honored one NCJW woman – Lee Markman from NCJW’s San Antonio (TX) Section – with the Outstanding Visionary Award. The Outstanding Visionary Award honors an individual NCJW member who has been instrumental in moving her section toward accomplishing NCJW’S mission.
